million friends to declare their
support for New
Orleans and surrounding parishes. Katrina Krewe is a local partner of Friends of N.O. To
learn how to join see above website. Also, check out the film clip they
shot, which focuses on the efforts of many locals, at the All the Kings
Men world premiere in N.O.

CLEAN UP GUIDELINES:
Suggestions
for planning
your own clean up:
Make your contacts, plan a
date, time, and meeting spot.. tell everyone to wear a pair of gloves,
bring heavy duty
contractor bags, a rake, broom or shovel, a bottle of water (and
hand wipes). Please see below guidelines for bagging/sorting.
1. Call the Sanitation Dept. to schedule
pick up 658-3800 on your clean up date.
2.
Bag all trash! See link regarding waste. Do not
make the bags too heavy. Place all bags on curbside corners (not
on private property, grass or public neutral ground).
3. Stack all large
debris items neatly in a separate pile. Place away
from polls/posts and
trees.
4. Return all borrowed items back
to the meeting point.
5.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE. Every volunteer is responsible for
his/her own
safety and every parent
is responsible for the safety of his/her own children. There are possible risks of participation in clean
up efforts. See below...
